Helicopter offshore operations (HOFO) are conducted in accordance with the requirements contained in Annex III (Part-ORO) of EASA AIR OPS regulations and Annex IV (Part-CAT)
When conducting HOFO the variations and specific requirements contained in Part-SPA Subpart K (SPA.HOFO), for which a specific approval issued by Italy’s ENAC is held by Alidaunia, also apply.
As part of Alidaunia’s risk analysis and management processes, risks associated with HOFO are minimised by specifying:

• the selection, composition and training of crews;
• duties and responsibilities of crew members and other personnel involved;
• required equipment and dispatch criteria; and
• operating procedures and minima, such that normal and likely abnormal operations are described and adequately mitigated in the operational environment.

Alidaunia’s risk analysis and management processes with respect to HOFO include, but are not limited to, the following hazards:

• collision with offshore installations, vessels and floating structures;
• collision with wind turbines;
• collision with skysails;
• collision during low-level instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) operations;
• collision with obstacles adjacent to helidecks;
• collision with surface/water;
• IMC or night offshore approaches;
• loss of control during operations to small or moving offshore locations;
• operations to unattended helidecks; and
• weather and/or sea conditions that could either cause an accident or exacerbate its consequences.
